Posted this in the Louisiana Section, but I will post it here as well:
For anyone interested:

The SCCA is hosting Track Night in America at NOLA MSP again this year. They have also added a starting line school to the April 13th event. Starting line has usually been an autocross school, but this year they expanded it to include a track school and rallycross.

I did the starting line autocross school last year and others on the forum have done it and it is a blast for a beginner. I'm assuming this one will be too. Unfortunately it is on a Thursday so it will require missing some work.

I have signed up so I will report back how it goes. Would love to see some other Camaro's there as well.

Here is the SCCA "Track Night in America" schedule for Pittsburgh International Race Complex just north of Pittsburgh. I'll be attending the June 7th date, I can't wait!. It's been awhile since I've done any kind of road racing (about 12yrs), been doing the boring straight line stuff since modifying my TA, so I figured I'd start off in the "Novice" class. Hope to see some of you guys out there. I'll have my White 1le.

Another event at NOLA Motorsports Park. The event planner has told a member of a track page that I follow on FB that the sessions will be 5x25 minutes each day. I signed up for one day only AT 195$ and 2 days is 325$, AND Rumor is, if you're signed off as solo, they allow passengers, but I cannot confirm or deny that. Might be a good event to get someone else hooked!

Just to close this loop, I did the Track Night starting line school. It was OK. There was no actual track time and it was run similar to the autocross school. They set up cones and we did two drills. One on braking and taking a corner and one on stringing multiple turns together. Then it is just a regular track night.

My main problems. Seat time seemed lacking versus the Autocross Starting line school. AutoX had skidpad drill and slalom drill in morning followed by full autocross course in the afternoon. The full course consisted of about 3-5 runs with the instructor and 3 solo runs.
The other issue is it is in the middle of the week and required me to take off work to attend. Starting line Autox is on the weekend. Overall I wouldn't recommend the Track night school unless they make some changes.
