Poor design or workmanship ?

Picked up the car new in September. After 6 months bottom quarter panel on passenger side is sticking out at the seam. Driver side is just starting to do the same. Taking to dealer's body shop to see what they can do. I know i have a warranty but this should not be happening. Happen to anyone else.

That should be no big deal just one bolt on each side. Good luck though.

Mine does that and so does every other camaro I've seen. I noticed it right away and went back to the dealer to check out the others and most had it sticking out at least a little bit. Annoying.

One or two of the tabs are not seated properly, they need to be bent back forward to line up, and then the bumper just pops right into place. I had to fix both sides, left side had one tab bent, the right had two.

I only had to take the top bolt and the upper star-head screw out though, and I didn't even have to jack up the car or remove the tire either.
While I had it apart I took some pictures in hopes that I could help someone else.

These pictures were all taken from above looking straight down at the two tabs that are supposed to go into the two slots but were kindof behind them instead forcing the side of the bumper outboard. The top one looks like it got a little nicked by being in the wrong position.

I don't think my problem might be the same as yours. The seam looks good except the last 1.5 inchs where there is no support.

Had the same problem with mine. Loosened the screw, re-aligned, and tightened down. Then, towards the tip I installed a small self tapping screw being careful not to run it through the outside of the car.I put this next to the screw that is installed from the factory. Two years and never have had a problem.

O.P. out of curiosity do you hand wash or go through a automatic wash? If automatic I'm thinking the brushes are catching and pulling it out. Still it is a problem.

Please let us know what the dealership was able to do for you. We are here if you have any further questions.

Mine popped out on one side when I backed into my brother's car in the driveway. Only damage that happened other than chipping, not too noticeable so not a big deal.
