GM Factory GEN 6 LT1 6.2L HOT CAM
Take a look at what @ThatGMPartsGuy posted on Instagram GEN 6 LT1 6.2L HOT CAM for $474 and you can keep your warranty if you have it installed by GM.
How much do you think the dealership will charge to do the install? |

That would void the warranty unless it comes with a tune.

Every bit of research I have done on this points to that it will not be covered under warranty. It won't come with a tune there for no warranty, I really hope I'm wrong though.

GM has no tune for this cam and the cam itself will void the powertrain warranty.
In the last paragraph where it says some parts maintain the OEM warranty, they are talking about things like the GM CAI, valve covers and such. |

Correct, this will void the engine warranty by installation and tuning of the ECM. GM does not provide a tune for the Hot Cam at all so you would have to get a tune by a 3rd party vendor.

116.5 LSA isn't choppy enough. Barely will hear it, if I'm doing a cam it will be a 114 LSA or lower.

Definitely will not retain warranty if it states "off-road use only". That being said any GM "hot cam" will see a slight bump in power and maybe a little bit more lope but nothing near what aftermarket camshafts will. My personal opinion it's not worth the time and money to tear down the front of the car/engine to install for that little bit of a bump in power, but that's just me..

GM does not provide a tune for any of their "Hot Cam" options that I have ever seen for the V8 engines. It has always been you buy the cam and then have to use a 3rd party vendor to have it tuned. If you are thinking you are going to be able to add a GM Hot Cam and be able to stay with in the powertrain warranty it will never happen. |

Is this mostly for sound? What is the typical HP/TQ increase with a CAM?
