Nitrous on a Bolt On Only Camaro?

Just curious how many guys have ran a nitrous set up on a Bolt On Only Camaro? How much did you spray?? Dry shot or wet?
Anybody know what's the fastest time out with this combo??

I know lots of internally modified cars have sprayed their set up, but I'd like to here from stock internal guys.

Wet always!

Good stand alone fuel system with C16 or C23 fuel. Ive sprayed 300 on stock bottom LS3s with good octane.

You could easily drop .6-.8 with 150 or so IF you can put it down off the line.

Wow! I had no idea that was possible. How long did that block last and how often was the nitrous used?

I would think it would depend on how NOS was setup. There are horror stories out there but it usually involves operator error or improper setup.

Not to thread jack...but similar questions that might help OP.
How expensive is it to get a nitrous setup done?
Looked on nitrous outlet and not sure what else is needed to their package.
Also, if you only spray a 150 shot at a race event that happens a few times a year (at most 50 bottle passes a year) how safe is that if you have an amazing tuner (my case CMS, so they know their shit)?

Rhino how much could I spray before I would need to drop timing? I was curious about a 75 shot. That way I would be more likely to get off the line aggressive but not kill the tires. Plus it would get me in the 10's with a stock long block.

I think a 75 shot will do fine on the stock tune

I was thinking so too. Just wasn't sure where the point is that you now need to take x amount of timing out.

Also at what hp shot would you need to change to a different plug?

If you currently have a max effort SI tune, you might be able to spray 75 and not worry too much, but I would run a colder plug.

On another car (4th gen) I sprayed 150 on a 10.9 car went 10.008, I had 27 or 28 degrees of timing in it for NA and I ran a tank of 110. I also ran TR8s but the car was most set up for spray. I put the timing back in it for motor since with conservative timing it only went 11.4.

Go with a br7ef plug, 75 shot on the timing we have would be ok with some good race gas. Not MS109, but like a leaded 110 or something. Id still want to log a 3rd-4th gear pull to check for spark knock.

Its still going. We did a cam, and dropped the shot down to 250 because he likes to run an index class. People make 700 plus on stock bottom end pretty frequently, nitrous is no harder on it than boost. Need octane, need good tuneup, need right plug.

By good octane, I take it you mean racing fuel?

Racing fuel yes. I prefer a dedicated fuel system for nitrous where the engine can run on 93 octane and the nitrous is injected with a race fuel. Pressure drop in the factory rail when using nitrous on the factory tank is pretty severe.

Ive been debating on going with a Standalone fuel system with my car for next year, using a Lingenfelter LNC2000 to pull back timing and will be running a 150shot.

Rhino do you think its fully required or will a colder set of plugs and some timing pulled back be enough? May have to message you to get my tune redone as I feel like there is something left even without the spray.

Should note I havent sprayed it yet.
