Yes. Just FYI, all brushed wheels (any brand) are clearcoated. Bare aluminum oxidizes in air, turns dull. The only way to maintain a brushed surface is to clearcoat it.

I've not seen a Camaro with the hand brushed finish wheels yet, someone step up and spend $2350 and we can make it happen.

I don't know.....like I said, I'll wait and see if they grow on me. Just surprised with all great silver colors out there that Forgestar when with dull silver.

So, I wrote Dupli-color an email asking about their wheel paints and clear coats and how they differ from standard paint.

Reply: they are specially formulated, much tougher and equivalent to any wheel paints used in the car industry. With proper application, you should get many years out of the finish.

As I said - I'll hold off a while to see if this color grows on me.....

Yes, both paint and powdercoat chip - BUT the big difference is that when powdercoat chips, it only removes the tiny spec of material where the rock chip impacted. With paint, that chip usually grows and brings some it's surrounding paint along with it, in due time. Rock chips on paint tend to just be the start of paint flakes.

No offense, but what did you expect Dupli-Color to say? "No, our paint chips like crazy and will look like shit in a year."? Powdercoating is tougher than paint, it's just a fact.
