Dyno Tuning During Winter

Are there any issues with dyno tuning in the Winter?

Nope. It's actually better due to the weather.

Here's my thinking about weather related tuning. Measuring colder air and denser air should produce more HP because you can add more timing.

What I like about tuning in the summer heat is the car may not show as powerful for a dyno number, but I never have to worry that I added to much timing if it doesn't knock in the summer and 95 degrees IATs.

That's why on a cooler fall or spring day, the car has more spunk.

Thanks guys. I new that colder air results in higher numbers but I wasn't sure it there is a point when we should wait for warmer air.

Dont chase a dyno number. Just do it when its right for you, but yes your number could be slightly higher in the winter.

No issues with tuning in the winter! Our dyno runs year round.

On the flip side...winter tuning has its benefits, making sure the setup on a forced induction car has enough fuel when the customer's tracking it during the winter and it's making more power
