Thumbs up

I think those are stout performance numbers for the ZL1 and the price is what I was expecting, so no surprise there. All in all, still a great bargain imo.

$62,135 includes Destination...

This is good news - Base price anyway, is there more available yet?

In a nutshell.....

This is a huge improvement over the 5th Gen numbers.
Trapping 127 vs mid teens is my #1 take-away.
Agree. The next thing I want to know is if it will avoid GG tax. And "N Ring" time.

For those who want to compare with the HC #'s....

And.... this was rumored to be RACE GAS, prepped surface, and TUNED.

For those who want to compare to the current Z06:
Chevrolet claims the Z06 sprinted through the benchmark 0-to-60-mph measure in just 2.95 seconds and that it annihilated the quarter-mile in an equally impressive 10.95 at 127 mph. Those who opt for the seven-speed manual transmission will have to be content with claimed 3.2- and 11.2-second (also at 127 mph) times. The car is propelled through time and space by a supercharged LT4 small-block V-8 making 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque;

So the ZL1 numbers are clean and AMAZING.

I think that is a great price. Has the price for the options came out yet?

Looks good to me. 127 mph trap speed tells the story. That's what the Hellcats trap, give or take a few mph. We all know what the Hellcats are capable of with drag radials. No reason the ZL1 won't be capable of the same given the power to weight ratio.

Seems like an excellent starting point to me Great chassis, relatively light weight, has all the grip and brakes you could want. If you desire more power, that's easy

I hate to admit it, but i'm kinda with you on this. The most significant improvement seems the be the 1/4 time. I guess with the weight drop, power bump, and 10 speed hype, I was expecting to see a 0-60 time around 3.3...but maybe that's because I've been waiting for so long, I was expecting to be blown away. It doesn't help that Al O kinda hinted that we'd be really impressed with these numbers. Don't get me wrong, these numbers are still really good given how much we're paying, but they're not mind-blowing imo.

So maybe what maybe getting lost in these numbers is the 'feel' of the car. When I test drove a gen 5 zl1, it felt a little sluggish for 580hp. Maybe this new one will 'feel' faster and more capable than its predecessor. This release doesn't change anything cuz I'll still be buying it.

0.5s in a quarter mile in the 11s range isn't a small change. It's not the same as going from 13.5 to 13.0. As others have stated, you also have to look at the trap speed.. that's a better indicator of the power it's making.

Same with 0-60. Cutting off 0.4s from 0-60 in a 3s window isn't as easy as you'd think on a heavier RWD platform. Especially on street tires.

And who rumored this? Have you kept up with any of the Hellcat's performance? These numbers have already been beaten by private owners completely stock or with DRs only. Stop spreading myths. The car runs as advertised with a proper driver and conditions. The ZL1 should be capable of the same, the 127-mph trap speed should be more than enough to better 11:40s.
