Official Playbook ZL1 ordering starts Q3

Well it's official. ZL1 ordering starts in Q3 and production begins Q4. I had said cars may be on dealer lots November 1st. Looks like that may come true. What a waste of a summer!

Not for those of us that bought a SS! lol

I'll order my ZL1 next summer, when they get all the bugs worked out...just like on the first runs of the 6th Gen.

Agreed.I understand production cycles, but I don't get why they produce performance cars with "summer only" tires in the fall when realistically most owners will take delivery in the winter. Then they will halt deliveries because of the potential of the tires cracking in cold weather. [rant off].

No matter what time of year, some area will still have warm weather. Think southern states and western states?

But yes it still sucks to be where it gets cold and that white crap falls out of the sky onto our roads, then they start putting that more granular white crap on our roads.

That makes it hard to get it home and safe somehow only to have it sleep in the garage for the next 6 months .

Interesting. ZL1 belts aren't forced red. They're red or black depending on exterior color.

Ah good I didn't see that. I'm not a fan or red. at all, so glad this is an option at least.

Because if they restricted it until a February ordering then everyone would complain about them holding the order release dates until February and complain that they could at least open orders up in the fall so people will know pricing. They will never make everyone happy. Look at it as having more time to save money for a down payment so your loan amounts are lower and your monthly payments are lower (unless you are someone that already has plenty of money saved up).

So no matter when GM opens orders up and starts vehicle deliveries, someone will complain about it.

People buy cars all year round. People buy cars like the ZL1 to drive them. Looks like this one will sit in my garage til the thaw. Yes I have the money already so I'm done saving. Make the dang car already!

I'm assuming he means that the vert will not get the ELSD?

Could be a measure to hold the vert price down?
