Since my family was in an accident on October 29th I have been amazed by the support I and my family have received. There have been countless prayers said by so many people I know and some I will never know. Prayer groups have become vested in healing Deb and the girls. Churches have prayed for my girls that I will never walk in. Amazing.
The Carlisle School has been amazing. They have picked-up and dropped off the girls. The coach carts them home after practice. Faculty and parents have brought home cooked meals. They have prayed for us. They have supported us.All this from a school community that barely knows us. Amazing. Our friends have been fantastic. They check up on the girls while I am out. They have been and are willing to do whatever we need. Amazing. Deb's new work place family has been exactly that. They treat her as though she were family. Amazing. My daughters have been amazing. Through all shock and trauma of the accident, they have seen more than they should in the ERs and ICUs. They have been there for each other and most importantly for Deb with a level of maturity that is well beyond there years. Amazing. As I sit at our Thanksgiving table, my heart will ache for the empty seats I see that are no longer occupied by the family members of my youth, but full of joy for all I have experienced in the last month. This is especially true for my October 29th survivors. Amazing. This Thanksgiving, please join me in counting our blessings and gifts from God. To the House that ShnOmac and #3 built! |

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Family, friends a little football.
A great thank you to those serving in our military, our police and fire departments, those manning the hospitals. Even those working their butts off to make a living that required them to work today. Plenty to consider and plenty to be thankful for.

Z06/Z07 is certainly making me wish my bank account had 6 figures sitting there bored with nothing to do toward retirement planning.
My is that looking incredible. Now put that drivetrain, even if detuned in a CTS and a Camaro. Wow!

Very quiet in The House of Z these last many months.
Are we done since the whole Z question that was asked and planted the seed for this thread and now answered? Or have we just quieted down to a normal level of reasonable topics as they arise? As I've said, I have always thought it would be difficult to take this thread and keep it relevant and vibrant. And now as we begin turning an eye to the Gen 6 Camaro and all the things that means maybe that is the natural course of things. That being said, I am encouraged by Reuss's comments on the NG. Although his "it won't weigh more" comment can be taken in a lot of ways, I was most encouraged by the driving experience comments around the SS being similar to the ZL1. So for me there are several ways to go with the Gen 6 and maintain the current models, but here is my master plan. LS, 1LT, 2LT, 1SS, 2SS. The Gen 5 launched with a pretty crappy chassis in retrospect. The 1LE is now the chassis that is capable of beating the Mustang GT. I don't think the SS alone does that. So here is what I would like to see happen. 1 - 1LE is not a model any longer or even an option. It is simply the SS that provides brake and chassis upgrades. I would prefer that it simply be the base car such that Mustang requires their track pack to even keep up with a base Camaro SS. 2 - We've discussed it a bit but I would like to see and LTZ and LTZ RS. That would be a more luxury oriented car with the appearance package. My 2011 Cruze was exactly that, an LTZ RS. 3 - ZL1, simply stated the LT4 in the Gen 6. Suck on that Hellcat! 4 - The key and critical element.................the Z/28. 1st it needs to be more affordable and that may mean copying (ouch) the Mustang strategy of GT350 and GT350 R. I want an LT2 at around the same output as the venerable (a word that barely describes my man love for the LS7) 7.0L monster in the current Gen 5 Z/28. Upgrade the base SS chassis (now 1LE in my plan) and offer it equipped any way you want. Then offer a Z/28 T (Track Spec) with limited content, CC brakes, tires, CF hood, fenders, get this down to a no crap 3500 pounds or less and destroy the world. Just Saturday morning ramblings.

Number 3, I find myself laboring hard, today. Don't take the lack of an immediate detailed response as "apathy". Far from it. In the allocated time I have at this moment, this about all I have to share.............
