Too much speculation. You cant base anything off the ATS-V because its not even know if the Camaro is using the ATS wheelbase, CTS wb or its own hybrid version of Alpha. There are other things that make speculating the weight tough. 1 thing is the new panel bonding adhesive GM is trickling in as well as the mass produced carbon fiber technology. The Camaro was developed later than the ATS or CTS, so you may or may not see it use technologies that wont be seen on the ATS/CTS until their next design cycles. To many variables here. GM seems to be on a mission to weigh less than the competition now, so who hell knows how stuff will shake out.

I cant change the headline. Maybe a moderator can?
Sorry about the clickbait. I did not know the CTS-V also is based on the same platform yet weighs substantially more then the ATS. Thats why i though we more or less knew what the 6th gen would weigh. My mistake. |

The '15 ATS Coupe 3.6 "Premium" weighs 3530 according to the Caddy website...
The LFX engine weighs about 360, and the LF3 engine weighs about 485, (I'm assuming these are dry weights?) so add 125 lbs to the 3.6 Premium coupe weight, and you're up to 3655... I would guess this weight doesn't include the heat exchanger to cool the intercooler system fluids, or that fluid in the system, the pump etc, extra oil the LF3 engine requires etc... How much more do the magnetic ride control components, and the 8 speed auto trans weigh? I'd say at a rough guess, the ATS-V couple would weigh a minimum of 3750, up to say 3900lbs max... Rough guess... An LS3 weighs 403lbs, I can't find an LT1 weight, so I guess we can assume about 30lb heavier... So about 50 pounds lighter than an LF3, minus the mag ride, the intercooler junk etc... Maybe 100 lbs lighter than an LF3 equipped car? I'd guess than a v8 equipped 6th gen Camaro will weigh between 3650 and 3800lbs. Only time will tell... |

I'd sell everything i had to get the new camaro if it somehow weighed less than 3600 with a v8 and a manual..
That would be less than an ecoboost mustang, so i guess the chances are pretty slim |

Hoping for a V8 manual at under 3600 pounds.

I'm hoping for around 3500 lbs but realistically I think 3600 will be the number for the SS at least.
If they can put out a v6 / i4 at 3200 or less I'd be in love. |

With the taxes we have in my country a turbo 4 manual at 3400lbs would be something i could actually afford without selling my first born to satan..
I fear the most realistic outcome is a v8 model at 3800 though:/ cant tell you how excited i would be if it was 3600lbs.. That would humiliate the new heavy mustang also. A car that i actually like. |

The Cadillac probably does have more lightweight chassis components than a Camaro on the Alpha platform may get, but again also would have more features/creature comforts and maybe more sound deadening materials than a Camaro SS would get, and as pointed out, the LT1 weighs around 40 - 50 lbs less than the LF3. I still firmly believe that 3,700 or under is perfectly possible for the V8 equipped SS, and hopefully, with any luck, it will be closer to 3,600 but not holding my breathe on that one. Thats not wishy washy talk, but what I feel to be a good educated guess. I think expecting under 3,600 might be hoping for too much, and I think expecting 3,800 or above is too high.
