I don't see it that way. the 5th gen was a gigantic success, so why mess with it? Many car makes make new generations with small tweaks. Sure, Camaro came out with different body styles, but then again, they stop making them...

This is on a whole new platform, and even though it MIGHT look almost like a 5th gen, it's a totally different car. Also don't forget about the interior. That's where I hope is a big change, for the better. Can't wait for the reveal.

Thanks regarding positive comments about my WIP sketch.
Just see a new Camaro 5 is an easy comment, the most difficult is to guess all the details.
Looking pictures from autoblog give us better idea about front fascia and lateral low emboss.
I feel that difference between rear wings and lateral BIW will be softer than on our current 5th gen but many sharp edge lines will give some agressive feeling to the global styling.

I like what I'm seeing so far especially the ZL1 styled front air dam opening but it's entirely too early to come to a conclusion about the final looks at this stage from these pics. I gotta go find some video of these runs in Germany at the ring.

Anyone ever think that its a 5th under the camo?

That the real 6th is still under wraps?

There is a lot of padding on the hood, rear, the side windows appear to have a plastic strip (like used on trucks to keep rain out) which is crazy taped, the rear window is much larger.. I think the 6 Gen is going to be smaller..

God its so much better than what I thought they were gonna come out with. I I really hope that tape down the front is fake, I had a feeling they were gonna pull some kind of pontiac look. Crap. I dig it overall though, as long as the power makes up for it!

Are these still 20" rims? They really need to go to 19's for a lot of reasons, 20's are for trucks. I'm afraid from the spacing to the rotor/caliper they still look like 20's to me

I definitely see where you're getting that. I like it, a lot actually.

its asymmetrical, so It must be a bow tie, why Chevy want to keep it hidden?
IDK... but maybe its because its is a flowtie? or an trim Insignia like the RS or SS in the 69`Camaro..

Well this puts a halt on my 15 order that's for sure. I think the 16 will be one mean looking car so I'll wait for the auto show reveal before passing judgment.

How about looking at this from GM POV. Every Camaro gen has been a ~10 yrs cycle except for the 1st (1967-1969, 1970-1981, 1982-1992, 1993-2002, 2010-2015) and the current. GM didn't want to make the same mistake as the 1st and change the design of a very successful 5th gen too early, but the 6th will be based on a different platform so it's not really a 5th gen anymore. A slightly smaller, much lighter nipped and tucked 5h gen shape with a modern interior (think CTS, C7...) would make a great 6th, IMHO.

Rear tail lights can be their interpretation of a '73 which were round. We shall see!

I have to completely agree as well. A generation change means a whole new car with some cues of the original Camaro look and style from the previous generations. It is too soon for a Gen-6 car. I own a 1st gen, a 4th gen, a 5th gen and am currently shopping for a 3rd gen. If you line them up, they are all different cars, but you see bits of the previous in each carry over. This is either just a freshening up of the Gen-5, or as I stated earlier, GM's attempt at providing something fot the Trans-Am / Firebird folks. Take a real good look at how that nose looks. Thats got the "Bandit" written all over it. Hell, this may not even be a production car at all, just something they are toying with. Im not a TA guy, but something keeps telling me they are looking to capture that group. They certainly re-captured me for 2010.

1982-1992
1993-2002
2010-2015

Completely new look. 1st gens did not look like 2nd, nor did 3rd, or 4th but had cues that indicated Camaro..

To me, 6th gen should not have been any different in that it should have a NEW style but cues of a Camaro. 2016 should be more along the lines of streamline, aggressive still (keeping the CAMARO expectations about)...

However this looks like it could EASILY be a 2016 5th gen.. Nothing really has changed all that much to be an entirely NEW GENERATION except for a shorter base.

The overall appearance looks exactly the same as a 5th gen and even a mustang appearance from the side.

I don't know how many people agree with me but I for one am deeply disappointed.. This looks like UPDATE to the 5th gen, not anything that should warrant a NEW GENERATION. :-(

For 6 years we have all been anxious to see the NEW STYLING.. Concepts drawn by Camaro enthusiasts were never the same 5th gen look because they didn't want a 5th gen look. The 6th gen should be a NEW STYLE with cues of different years..

I'm disappointed :-(
