Deposit
How many of you had to fork over a deposit when ordering. My dealer said when ordering as a sold order, if the buyer changes their mind, they are fined $300.

$1000 refundable deposit. They have not even cashed my check.
I am the only one with an order at my dealer. I just talked to them and they have 3 more cars on order. Not sure if they have any more allocations.

$1k fully refundable with parameters on the deal. He knows where I need the payments to be and I will put down another $15k on arrival with trade in that has about $2k equity and if he cant get payments where I need them to be or I get full refund of my deposit. I want payments at $450 for 60 months with interest rate of no higher then 3%. They agreed and the interest rate is where we got the last 3 vehicles at.
I will add this will be vehicle #9 (4 were referrals) in 3 years I got them. |

I was lucky I guess. I've purchased 5 vehicles from my dealer. He did not require a deposit. Ordered TRE sold order.

I did $1000 refundable deposit as well. If I were local, they said 500 but I wasn't lol.

We sealed the deal with a handshake. I said if dropped dead in the mean time, he could sell my Camaro in a heart beat. He agreed!

Lol... Neverever give any money... Its there allocation anyway.. So why pay them to put an order in that they would have already done... As far as penalty id tell em to shove it... An order is an order... Sold order gets pushed up front... If you back out they put it on the lot to sell just like they would have anyway...

My dealer told me I had to put a $5,000 NONrefundable deposit down for the Camaro I ordered. I did it because I really want the car, but was the wrong of the dealer to do that? If I chose to not pick up the car they earned $5,000 and a beautiful 2016 2SS that someone will buy.
