key recall
well I had the key recall done today at my Dealer. They let me keep both flip keys and made me two regular keys,so now I have four!I also had a problem with taking the key out off the ign. sw.They replaced the entire shifter and now is fine. They sent a shuttle driver to pick me up.Some dealers are good,I'm happy with Bob Taylor chevy in Naples Florida.

I went to Bob Taylor Chevrolet last week and got a good deal on a Z28 Spoiler. It came in with a paint chip so they had to order a new one... I'm happy they got me a new one and their service was very good. They are very understanding people.

I had mine scheduled to be done last Friday along with the power seat recall and an oil change.
I had assumed the key recall was related to the ignition switches with the weak springs, so I scheduled to have it fixed. But a couple days prior I learned from this forum as well as a Google search that they were simply going to remove my switch blade key and add a key to the fob, due to complaints that driver's knees were hitting the switch and killing the ignition. So I went out to my car and saw that my knee was 4-6" away??? Can't even imagine how anyone's knee could hit it? I also tried jiggling the key in the ignition and could not cause it to shut off. So when I got to my appointment I told them I decided not to have the key recall done. The Service writer said no problem, almost all the Camaro owners were declining as well.

Yes my '11 2SS had a recall for power seats (campaign 14271). A bolt in the drive that raises the seat may come off and the seat could suddenly drop, or so they said

My knee is pretty close to the ignition switch and i'm only about 5'9". However I probably drive much closer to the wheel than most do. I've been taught the proper seating positions for track and such and I always keep my seat in that position.
I like my key though, so I keep just ignoring the recall notices. I've never accidentally hit the key even after spending hours on track and during autocross.
