I must be lucky. in the 4.5 years I've owned my car 1 person has asked if it was a V8. I've also never had a civic try to race me. once had someone in some lexus SUV try to goad me into one, and about a month ago someone in a very custom mustang also tried. but that's it. the #1 thing I usually end up correcting people on about my car is that it didn't cost 30-40k. more people seem to assume that than anything else.

"What kind of car you got?"
"A Mustang"
"Really? Me too!"

WAY too many Mustangs on the road...
I wanted to stand out
Nice move standing out by buying a V6 5th gen Camaro. Incredibly rare car you have there sir.

To be fair, a Gen5 Camaro stands out more than a Mustang, regardless of the engine choice.

Only to other Camaro owners. I freely admit being an ex Camaro owner. When I see a Camaro.....or Mustang......or challenger. It gets my attention. But most cant even tell you the difference between the three.

I owned Challengers from 2010-2015 & truly appreciate all three of them. I can attest to always turning to see a Camaro when I came across one, but with a Mustang it only happened during the initial release in 2005 & the new model in 2015.

I'm sure our ownership of the 5th gen affects what "turns out head", who'd own a car they didn't like? Having said that, I can't remember ever "turning my head" to see a mustang and only the first few times I saw a Challenger when they came out (drove an early srt8 and that quickly stopped the head turning). I rented a vert v6 Camaro in California on family vacation, thankfully it was enough to push the wife over and let me get one. She did say it had to be a V8 though.

The 6.1, 6.4, 6.2 Hemi engines are beasts & their rumble is sweeter than the Camaro SS.

I was thoroughly underwhelmed at the power of the 6.1 SRT8 Auto, The Yukon Denali's I drove on a daily basis had a stronger launch and felt less like a truck than that Challenger did. My friends 13 SRT-8 manual was fun to drive, but still felt like a truck.

The Challenger drives more like the muscle cars of old, whereas the Camaro & Mustang drive more like the pony cars. I've always said, the new Challenger is more like the 1970 Charger, than the 1970 Challenger.

Stock vs Stock, maybe...

But who keeps their cars stock these days? Maybe a few here and there, but the majority are looking at exhausts shortly after purchase maybe?

Sorry, I really doubt the majority of Camaro/Challenger/Mustang owners modify their vehicles... it may be true of forum members, but not overall.
