Might walk from C7 to SS

I was torn between the both of them , I ended up falling in love with the C7 the cockpit feel the way it delivered its experience and the price of the 2SS reaching close to the Z51.

Now that I have had it for a couple months I truly do love it, but my original goal was to drive my daily toyota solara and use the c7 for nice windy roads , track and trips.

Now I realize the Daily Driving is pretty much 90 percent of what I am do, and that trips and tracks and such end up a low percentage of actual use .

For me taking the C7 everywhere is sometimes to flashy esp when I go to my grad school and such

So Im contemplating switching to a 2SS what are your thoughts? I know I'll take a hit

Paid 57,500, MSRP was 64k for the z51 1lt

was considering going to a 2SS and making it my daily and ditching the toyota...

give me the good the bad and the ugly?

I do love those T tops might consider the convertible !

The Zl1 would be an option but don't want to go to under if i end up selling at 55K plus the 60,for zl1 plus tax feels like more out than i want but probably should of just got that to begin with! So I'm settling in on a fully loaded 2017 2ss possibly , depending on trade in vs selling it myself.

Gotta sell yourself. You could get full bluebook for it that way. You'll take a big hit on a trade. I personally would do that and then go get the 2SS Beast. Shouldnt have a hard time selling it if its in good to excellent condition. Every car i traded was almost perfect and i felt ripped off but was in a rush.

Is it only about being flashy?

If you're looking at the Camaro for more room as a daily, keep in mind that you're not going to be much better off in the Camaro. It only has 9 cu-ft of trunk space compared to the C7's 15 cu-ft, though you can fold the seat down or use the back seat. However the back seats are all but useless for passengers other than children or very short people.

Before you trade maybe try mixing the C7 into your daily driving for 2-3 days a week. Or just drive the Toyota on the crappy days and enjoy the C7 more. If you sell or trade there is no avoiding a big $ hit.

might be down for a trade depending on color and options is it a manual? have to have a 6 speed.... The back seat is useful for the 3 yr old! the flashy is the everywhere i go people chase me down i don't mind , but when I'm at school its like how the hell do you have this car ? vs a SS blends in more . I do have a paint chip on the bumper thats all that has happened to the car

I struggled with the same thought process when looking. My first thought was a C7, but I realized that the C7 would be more of a garage queen than a daily driver. After pricing, I realized I could purchase a 2SS with a S/C for the same price as a mid-level C7. Test driving them both sold me on the 2SS. The C7 is fantastic to drive, but the 2SS was 90-95% of the driving experience of the C7. Overall cost of ownership is cheaper too; insurance for one.

It was the right decision. I'll admit that I don't drive the 2SS every day, but I know I'm driving it a lot more than I would drive the C7. I still lust after a C7, but only if I'm not driving the 2SS.

That said, a trade is temping.....

I too have a C7 and am considering this very trade myself. I love the C7 but for me it is just too hard to get in and out of anymore. I've had both knees replaced and now am looking at a hip replacement so the days of low slung two-seat sports cars are over for me.

I've driven both an A8 and M6 version of the 2SS and really like them both. But I think for all practical purposes, I will go with the A8 just for pure convenience and the fact it is a little quicker if I would decide to take it to a Test and Tune session at a local track.

A8 is probably easier on your knees as well I would imagine.

I used my C6 as a daily driver. No reason a C7 can't be. Unless its a standard. NVM Its a standard. ..... Same reason my 15 GT PP sits in the garage most of the time.
