You critics are overthinking this. GM offers optional badges, too, what if someone installs those (like I did)? How about the 4 different console lid options with their own scripts? As long as someone isn't trying to deceive, I see nothing wrong with these efforts at adding nice touches.

Also, the point beowulf556 made about removal doesn't prove anything about resale value, it was stated to underline how easy it is to cater to potential buyers' tastes when it comes to badging or debadging.

And now, let me get back to deciding where to install my new green flex fuel E85 badge so I can piss off the thunbergs of the world---best of all, it isn't even a lie, I'm saving the environment one tank of ethanol at a time

I put a 1LE badge on my rear bumper where the SS badge used to be:

While personally I want to keep this car how it is from factory, it is because that is how I want my car. I love the way it looks and to me they nailed it from factory, so no changes for me.

However, I completely appreciate someone wanting to add or remove badges or what have you to make it exactly how they want it. Looks are largely subjective and everyone has their own tastes. I have done exactly that with cars past and understand the excitement of adding something I thought the car was missing, or removing something I didn't like.

Cars are very personal, own it. Unless you're just looking to flip or you buy cars purely from a "collector" standpoint, in which case I guess I see the point there.

My question is why? You know your car is a 1LE, so is the badge for other people? First, other people don’t care about your car, only you do. Second, most people have no clue what a 1LE is. Third, for the people who do know they would know what to look for.

I have seen some LT1 with black hood wrap and spoilers made to look like a 1LE. I take it as a compliment that they like the look of an 1LE. To me that is good for resale. My opinion, the car looks good as it is. It is fine if you think it needs more, but that is also just your opinion.

PS. If someone with an LT1 put a 1LE badge on their car that would be wrong.
Exactly my point in my earlier posts. As I said, far be it from me to tell someone else what to do with their car. God Bless ya'll, the freedom to screw up your car is part of being an American! But am I not allowed to share an opinion on the board, that may be shared with oh, I don't know, over half the public, on this topic of adding stickers to your car? Perhaps if you hear it here, inside a relatively safe anonymous space, from actual car people, someone who is thinking about adding stickers to their car, may consider the alternative viewpoint and reconsider their options when they realize how it may be perceived by others in the car community?

I echoed the same points on who this label is intended for...? Most non-car people would have no idea, and the ones that do, will laugh when they walk away.

My fave part is the same folks who say "I don't care what other people think" are sure as heck quick to get defensive when they find out someone else thinks they are silly.

Not every mod is a good mod, boys......

BTW- I've seen several LT1's with 1LE like options, sold that way by GM to look like fake 1LEs for higher the price with less to offer. I've seen LT1's on lots, with the recaro seats, hood wrap, spoilers, dual exhaust, and even mag ride, going for above 50. When you consider the fact that I paid 43k for my 1LE brand new, and it has all that plus the ZL1 suspension and cooling setup (ediff, added coolers, etc), better dashboard, etc etc whereas the LT1 has the suspension off the V6, geee... I wonder why the Camaro died, eh. Seen many brand new LT1-fake-1LEs like that sitting on lots in recent years, but the last 1LE I ever saw on a lot was the one I bought 4 years ago just before COVID. Perhaps those 1LE stickers on ebay are intended for the guys that bought the dressed up LT1s?

Since your Camaro is now apparently hideous and devalued, let me know how much money you want to offer to have someone remove it from your site.

I too placed a 1LE emblem in the same spot on the fender as I thought the car deserved it (or maybe I deserved it). I'm not normally one to do the cosmetic thing, but really don't like the OEM emblem and thought the 1LE badging was more appropriate.

And if I ever want to recoup my lost millions when I sell it (far) down the road, I'll simply put the badging back to stock. I don't think Barrett Jackson and Southeby's will notice.

I was on the fence about it at first since I typically completely debadge my cars, but I think it looks great now, and it's been the only thing saving me from people asking if it's a 1LE at meets/shows. Very few people outside of the Camaro community recognize the subtleties that identify the 1LE. I have seen several SS owners wrap their hood locally.

The brakes being the only place with the 1LE insignia was an L by GM. Imagine how even more boring Challengers would be if Dodge did that to the Scats/SRTs.

A lot of other Chevy models use the RS Trim and associated badging as well, they are trying to build some sort of recognition across their model lineup. Even the dumb redline sticker package is offered on some of their other vehicles.

1LE was an option package to their SS trim package and I guess they figured it didn't deserve its own badge under the SS trim which gets a badge.

And how wrong GM was in that decision. I submit that GM should have provided "Power Mop" badging on 1LEs. As in, "....wipes the floor with most cars it encounters on the track."

Very interesting because I believe the Z28 was actually an option as well but got its own badge and heck turned into its own model.
