Top repair coverage for 2011
In that the there are TSBs, recalls, etc. is GM providing support for 2011s? I've searched and read as much on here as I can but can't find a reference. I just got my 2SS Convertible (had to sell the original back in '12 to pay for daughter's college ) it only has 8,000 miles on it and the 5th Bow is sagging.

I don't think you will get any help from GM but there are threads on how to fix that yourself. It costs about 200 in parts...

Thanks Caseyls3. I have seen some of the write ups and they will certainly be a big help if I have to do it myself. I was just wondering if there has been any feedback or support from GM. I didn't see a parts list for the repair - has anyone posted one?

I'd suggest calling GM, nonetheless. With such low miles, it's obvious your 'vert hasn't been driven much. I recall threads here where people have contacted GM and they've lent assistance in helping to defray the cost of a top repair / replacement despite the convertible being out of BtP warranty for years. It's definitely worth a shot to contact them.

This is scary, I too have a very low mile 2011 2SS vert, I just turned 7,000 miles last week. I figured since mine had such low miles I would not have to be too concerned with the 5th bow issue for a while but after reading this thread I guess my low mile vert is also at risk. Keeping my fingers crossed that mine doesn't go bad any time soon. OP, please keep us posted on whether or not you get any help from GM/Chevrolet.

My guess it's not the miles as it is the amount of times you use your top.

Yeah, makes sense but you would think low mile car not as many times to drop/raise the top. My very is just a weekend toy so I guess I am going to drop the top and park it in the garage with the top down and only close it when I wash it or have to close it.

I think a lot has to do with how and when you use the top. If you lower it carefully (give a quick check to make sure it is folding and pleating properly) and use it when it's nice and warm you shouldn't have a problem.

That makes sense. I never put mine down below 70F, and when I do make sure to lower it halfway, check around, pull out the fabric so it doesn't get caught in the supports, etc. Still, I will probably only lower & raise it a few times this summer. it will be 6 years at the end of this month, fingers crossed.

Has anyone spoken to a class action attorney regarding this issue? As much as I hate those types of attorneys and frivolous law suits I would think this might have some merit if it is so wide spread of a problem.

There WAS some kind of class action going on over the convertible tops, I have no clue what happened with it. Haven't seen a word on it in a long time.

Me neither. Don't know what happened. Fortunately don't need to join it.
