Odd...Mine will go to the rev limiter if I don't shift.

Its procharged with 10psi, methanol injected also, longtube headers with exhaust with no cats, 6 puck racing clutch and lightweight flywheel, 373 gears, lowered springs in front, 355 dot slicks on the back. Its fun and fast for what it is last dynoed at 482 rwhp on 10 psi on the stock motor. Very low miles for a 98 with 67k miles and everything works cold ac.

700 miles...what could they possible be giving you to make you drive that far for a Ford? It probably couldn't make it that far back to the house unless it was on a flatbed!

If you put it in Manual mode, it will still shift on its own until you use the tap shift the first time. So to launch in manual and tap shift, you would have to already have used the tap shifter first.

Scenario 1: You are in "D" you switch to "M" and take off. It will shift on its own.

Scenario 2: You are already in "M". You drive it and use tap shift, then come to a stop. Next time you launch you will be fully tap shift manual.

Scenario 3: You are already at a stop ready to launch but have not used tap shift yet. Just put it in "M" and hit the downshift pad once, you will now be in tap shift mode for launch.

The nice thing is you don't have to down shift if you don't want to. If you tap shift up through the gears, you can just hit the brakes and stop, it will automatically go to 2nd gear. You can then put it in 1st if you want.

Hope that helps!

Yes it does koons has a a lot of dealerships in the Maryland and Baltimore area. I work up north on travel a lot but I live in va. So I had to go home grab my truck then drive there and back home to park it in my garage. I didn't mind making the trip cuz not many dealerships would trade in my newly used jet skiis. I tried at a local dealer near my house once I got the bad new on the stang. But I still made out in my own way since I got rid of the skiis and this high payments to this brand new camaro that I will use a lot more when I'm home.

I read up on the tap shift modes and I understand it better lol. Just seemed funny cuz my Lexus is300 is simple. I'm def gonna keep the car and prolly at the end of this summer I can find a used 5.0 cheap that I can mod the heck out of. For now the camaro will stay stock besides small upgrades because of the 5 year warranty I bought and do not want to void it.

A local guy was pushing over 600 rwhp in his l99 and broke the trans and somehow worked out a deal with a dealership to replace the trans at the cost of 2 grand then his warranty got voided after that.
