My new Toy! quick questions
Hey guys, new to the whole forum thing, but here is my 2012 45th anniversary edition rs/2ss A6. Got her about 2 weeks ago with 9k on the clock. The GM dealer told me that it was owned by a guy over 50, who paid this one off in cash late 2011, and traded it in to ORDER a 2014 with the exact packages he wanted(wish i could do that). Anyway, his loss is my gain. Bone stock right now, thinking of doing the muffler delete soon. My 4th gen z28 with just a magnaflow catback(very mild) and SLP CAI sounded beastier than this. Also want to do the resonator delete possibly, but afraid of what the AFM will sound like without it. i drive about 10 miles each way to work everyday on the highway, so i know i will feel it kick in(although i dont feel or hear it at all now). I dont mind a little popping noise. As you can tell, i have read a few threads on this topic, but am still very undecided. what do you guys think? I wont have the money for a catback or shorties(cali) until tax return time, but im wanting that true muscle car sound. Ive read many threads on this, but am still very undecided. Would love to hear from some people who have done it. Seems like a cheap temporary solution to my problem, especially since i wont have to smog it until 2017. Also, how will a custom tune fair on CA smog, even if all my mods have Carb numbers? I know they have recently become more strict, and i dont want to throw a bunch of codes to where the car will eventually have to go non op, but i havent met anyone who can chime in on a 2013 CA smog experience, mods or no mods. Thanks in advanced guys.

Leave the 45th unmodified. It will be worth more in the end. Thats my $1.02.

Thanks guys. They are the factory 45th ann. wheels. The dealer said that they had them chrome dipped for the first owner. I was never a big chrome fan, but when you see this car in person, it fits real nicely with the overall appearance. but any suggestions on CA smog and exhaust would be great. I just feel that muscle car should sound like one.

Nice ride...Congrats! Not sure about CA emissions, but I'm putting either the Borla S-type or Atak system on this winter. I too have the automatic, but I've listened to a few videos , and the AFM cutout and drone didn't seem to be an issue. Good luck with whatever you do.

i Just realized while i was sleeping last night why no one has the answer to my smog questions. The first ones were bought at the end of 09 so, no no has ad to smog it yet. i guess we wont have these answers until about 2015 to 2016 :(

And when you do, let me know, I want to hear them, especially the Borla.
First choice is the Borla, but most likely will go with the Solo Performance. Jim Quote:
