Ford built over 1 million cars a year in the '20's
And the'General runs out of parts 90 years later! With less than 100,000 Camaros this year.

I'm just surprised that GM would run out of stock in 2016 when they will probably build only about 100,000 Camaros for '16.

...Maybe the Fords in the '20s didn't run out of any items because they just didn't need that many parts to begin with...lol

Not to mention that its a new car, at a different plant, there are bound to be some bumps on the road. Plus in the 20s the consumers didnt have much of a choice...

The time it takes to build these cars compared the 20's isnt even valid the assembly line took 1.5 hours.

Ford built over 1 million cars a year in the 20's, and my cat 90 years later! With only a bag of sandwiches on a long stick.

The company I work for supplies lighting for all the major manufacturers including GM. The JIT system is a amazing set up to get all the parts to the assembly line at the time they're needed. Assembly plant may only have six hours of stock at any given time. For each of the thousands of parts in the car. That being said one screw up anywhere , mother nature, truckdriver running off the road, technician accidentally scratching a mold anything will shut it down. They save a ton money on storage and taxes but run out of parts a lot. But we as consumers only see it when the stock is very low. Like now with a totally new redesign.
At the start of production my company shut down the Ford S550 Mustang for just a bit. Because one of our suppliers forgot to ship a wiring harness to us. And we got hit with about $30,000 in fines lol. So what I'm saying is be patient as there is literally thousands and thousands of people just to build one car ! |

This thread looks like the product of common core teaching. You know, 2+2=cat.
