My wife's '07 Solara was the quietest convertible I'd been in.

Then I got my Z.

What is this madness about riding the convertible with the top up?

Audio is subjective. I hated the Bose as it distorted too much and lacked clarity when cranked up with top down so I had to upgrade the stereo system. Make sure you test drive under conditions that are important to you and come to your own conclusions.

My first convertible and it's amazingly quite with top up or down in my opinion. I trade off a 2016 Z06 coupe and it was much louder by far. Very impressive ride!

Similar experience. I had a C5 Z06 and two C6 copies and the Camaro convertible has less road noise with the top up than either of those two cars. Maybe slightly more than a 3 series hardtop convertible. I am very happy with it as a coupe. However I tend to drive it with top down the majority of the time. 80pct plus !
