At first I did too, I was putting the car in track mode with TC off and it didn't want to spin, track mode seems to be more for road course racing and torque management helps keep the car from spinning. I use tour mode and hold TC until both tc and sc lights come on and Let her rip!

Anyone here with an M6 actually had some weird bogging issues when trying to burn out? It'll happen to me every 1/5 times I'd say..

Don't get me wrong Im not trying to bash anyone -- but am I the only one who finds burnouts to be kind of pointless and boring for a car that costs as much as a 6th Gen SS? I mean we all know even the turbo 4 can do a burnout .. Why do I want to throw all that unecessary stress at my drivetrain and throw away perfectly good tires just to watch a cloud of smoke rise from my rear bumper? I personally get more adrenaline from heavy accellerations on the highway and feeling my back get pulled into the seat as I'm launching at a track rather than throwing away my tires and murdering my drivetrain while sitting still and going nowhere.
To each their own... but its just how I've always felt about burnouts. |

I wanted to do burnouts back in the early 701's but had no money although had a 70 dodge dart 2 door without a 6 pack but a 340 and could do 180's into the curb or close to it I also had a 1970 Camaro but lost the tranny as the guy before me bagged the car, always wanted to do burnouts but tires were a lot of money and the tranny repair scared me fast forward to 2018 I owned a 2013 grey corvette GS and never burned out, now I own a 2016 DSOM corvette 2 LT base and only burp the tires, since I do not competitively shoot anymore the money is there for me to enjoy another car ............... a 2017 nightfall grey 50th picked up a mere 2 days ago and put in the garage for the rest of winter I am going to spin those tires off in the spring and get a second set for the middle of summer, burnouts here I come, in the 70's turns into and and and in the 2018 yay stig eh |

"It is better to do a burnout then to become a burnout."
I love to burn rubber. I love the sound, the feel and the smell. But I like the one - two up shift and getting rubber. This beast just squats down and fishtails a bit. This is the best. This is just one of the many reasons I prefer manual transmission cars. Automatic boys can't do that. |

To just burn out in? Get some old tires.

I did a few burnouts back in the mid-1960's in an intermediate Dodge family sedan that only had a 2-barrel 318 under the hood . . . that would be impressive today for a car with three times the power. There's nothing left to prove when it would take so much more to top what you've already done. Norm
