The Head2Head should be an SS (NON 1LE) versus the GTPP1. I don't understand why they didn't go this route. Guess maybe they figure its a handling package added on to both...so that's fair?
Should be fun to watch.

With the GT sporting similar rubber to that found on a V6-1LE, this shouldn't even be a contest in regards to any handling data. These two will need to have another shootout when the PP2 package is out.

They already did an SS H2H. There’s no reason to do it again.

What updates did the SS receive for 2018?

I think people want an actual H2H with the SS and GT PP1. We had a H2H with a SS and M4, and a comparison review of the SS and GT PP (with no lap times). It made sense to skip the GT before, since it never matched the '15 1LE's lap times. But with all this "talk" about improvements to the '18 GT's handling, some of us want to see an actual H2H with the 2 now. Which is why it is odd to put a GT PP1 up against a 1LE, since there was never a chance of it besting that on the track.

LOL...maybe Ford sent them a Bullitt and dressed it up as a GT. Or maybe they did that with the cars that Evans and LMR and Lund got...I mean, it's kinda odd that they got those times out of a GT that has not been duplicated and now all of a sudden we have a 475 hp Bullitt. Ok, I'm just messin around.

Just for the sake of clarity, Bullitts are GT's. At least the modern ones, '01, '08, and '09.
Their namesake was of course a GT390.

390 CI is about 6.4L, so you would have to make it a pushrod engine so it can fit. That would be an easy 485HP (that's what the 392 Hemi makes), and you wouldn't have to rev the engine to the moon before you get to the fun part. Just make it all aluminum rather than an iron block (the 392 is iron), and it would be about the same size and weight as the Coyote, only you get torque from beginning to the end of the RPM range. Then you can sell the GT390 as a trim level, and have an optional Bullitt appearance package on top of that. Just don't paint mine Eddie Bauer Edition Explorer green, please. |
