I was thinking the same thing (about the ZL1), but the beating I'd probably take is a tough one to swallow. Having paid 36K, with a sticker of 47K (last November), trade is now 27K-28K. So @ 70K +/- for a ZL1 vert - 28K trade = 42K to be owed + a 8K loss from trade = 50K + 2.6K sales tax = 52.6 K (not including local excise tax) .

I can currently buy a new 1LE with no trade, for 39K + 2.4K tax and be ahead of the game... with 2 really cool cars. As much as I can afford / want a ZL1, that's a lot of $$ for a couple hundred horsepower that I can't really utilize in this neck of the woods. If only I was super rich, so I didn't have to feel/be so practical... just my 2 cents..

Oh, and if I remember correctly, no the ZL1 does not have AFM..I hate AFM too.

I actually traded my 16 Z06 for my 17 ZL1 vert, no regrets. I got such a great deal on my Z06 that it only cost me about $1,800 loss on what I originally paid for it, 1 year old. Then I got my ZL1 vert OTD with extended warranty, tire protection for $64k. Very happy except I have developed a little bit of creaking noise on the front #1 bow trim on the top. Disappears when I lower the top, lol.

I did look at a 17 Z06 vert, but the the pricing in my opinion is just too much for it and the ZL1 vert came standard with everything I wanted except for the PDR & front cameras...wish you could get those as both are sweet to have like on the vett.

My first was a 16 SS vert with 6 speed manual, I do miss downshifting and even skip shifting at 45 from 1st to 5th in a 45 MPH zone (excellent gas mileage).

This one is a 17 SS Vert with 8 auto. I like that my Wife can drive it and being able to dial a cell phone, eat a burger on a trip or even put a large soda in the cup holder..LOL.

I have the same car! They only made 229 in 2016 with the Kalahari top. If I am doing my percentages correctly based on the number of Nightfall Grey Cars produced, there are probably only 25 or less cars like ours built in 2016. I love the color scheme.

Newb here. Re: the 50th Anniversary wheels. It looks like the outer flats are polished and the center/insides are still the gunmetal color. Looks awesome!

Next month I’m ordering a black/kalahari 2018 2SS vert with MRC, A8, NPP, 6-piston Brembo fronts, OEM body kit, etc. and I want to pick up some of the mods I want while I’m waiting on delivery.

Really want to upgrade tires to 285 fronts and 305 rears. Is there any one making a version of that 50th Anniversary wheel that can take those tire sizes?
