I'm here to see someone figure this out too...I have yet to decide on what kind of boost gauge I will get but I know I should before the motorsport season.

This happened to my 17 too when I installed the flex-fuel sensor! I'm guessing it was from having the battery disconnected for 45 minutes? Turned the car on to make sure no fuel line leak or that the car worked properly, and the gauge showed up. Turned the car off and on again, it disappeared.

Damn I was really hoping to find an answer for getting that boost gauge to stay cuz who cares about battery voltage. I noticed it when I first cranked her over after my whipple install a few weeks ago. Turned out to just be a a tease upon starting and just disappears into the voltage gauge.

See - the base software in the ECU is setup for multiple cars, and I would assume they would cover all V8 Camaros both auto and manual. When initializing the ECU is seeing the 3bar map sensor and is thinking it is a LT4, until you start it, then it diverts to the LT1 configuration.

There is no way to bypass it - however I would say to look into a aftermarket OBD gauge. I have been using a Banks iDash and love it.

There should be a way to program it. The ZL1 doesn’t have a voltage gauge, but it does come with this boost gauge that’s much more appropriate for a blower car.

It would be so cool to get this to work. I tried under tq sc in hpthners and told it had a supercharger installed but when I started it it ideled kinda rough so I did not let it run long enough to do the reset of gadges arter start but in service mode it did not change it

The ZL1 cluster is different than an SS cluster and im sure the 4cyl turbo is different then all the others. In 2017 alone there are I believe 15 different part numbers for clusters alone. So it's not so much just programming it also has to be the correct cluster. and also the easiest way to do it would be to get a ZL1 cluster and ECM and then tune that to your vehicle. But the biggest problem in the whole situation is that it is flashed to your vin number and that will turn the boost gauge off every time. So personally I think you will need the GM computer programs to get into the ECM and Cluster to do this.

How accurate is the factory zl1 gauge? This might be worth trying to figure out using zl1 parts in my SS
