Hmmm, have been thinking about a ZL1 to join my Z/28. Might have to wait for the 2016, even though I'm still not fond of the huge bug catcher in front.
I'm kind of hoping GM won't make a Gen 6 Z/28.

The hood looks like it's straight from the Stingray

Very unlikely there will be a 2016 ZL1.

The ZO6 C7 came out a year after the C7 base, So I would expect 2017 ZL1 models to be release in fall of 2016. If history tells, it will only be able 10 HP less than the C7 ZO6 model

Not just that but the aero on the front splitter looks looks like it's from the C7 Z06 and the rear vents look similar to C7 Z06 as well.

The C7 Z06 is pretty stout in the aerodynamic department so it only makes sense for them to take things from that to use in the Camaro. Saves time and money.

It's a similar rendering to one we've seen before. I like the rear vents of the pic in the OP, but dislike the "bug catcher" as Desert Dweller called it.

I hate to be the odd man out, but if those renderings are a hint of the next ZL, then the designs need work. Nothing on those two renderings say anything to me about a fresh ZL1 design. All or most of those elements look borrowed from previous models.

If Chevy really wants me to trade up (I won't but..) then the ZL will need to come out smoking both on the outside as well as in the engine bay.

They are photoshopped on there. GM will have to develop new parts for the camaro.

I think the Mohawk needs a trim!!
I don't like the side vents next to the center vent on the hood.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I still don't think there will be a 6th gen ZL1. Sure it was a success compared to the Z28, but it was originally supposed to be a Z28 and the ZL1 nameplate was an afterthought. The Z28 is a mainstay with the Camaro...ZL1 not so much. I see a more streetable Z28 and the end of the ZL1
