Front ZL1 splash guards trapping rocks?

Anyone figured out a way to not have the rocks get jammed in between the splash guard and the plastic fender shielding? It seems a lot of the rocks go behind the splash guard and get stuck between that and the fenderwell shielding...

Yea don't run sticky tires. Lol. But that kind of defeats the purpose of traction.

mine do the same. Only way I can think to stop it is to put some double sided tape down to make the contact between the two better without any little gap.

Yeah I was thinking of doing something like that... I was just seeing if anyone had a clever fix.

Yep, I loosen my rock guards every now and then to get them out.

Reading this thread just made me come up with the idea of using magnetic tape. The two screws on the bottom will hold it secure and then the top part where the rocks get stuck can be peeled on and off easily to clean away the rocks. I'll try it next time I get a chance to spend some time in the garage

Most of the time I can get all the rocks to fall out by gently pulling the bottom of the guard towards the front tire. In those cases where I get some stubborn rocks that just won't come out, I loosen the guard. I look at it as a minor inconvenience to keep the rock chips in the gill area down to a minimum.

Yeah it's minor in the grand scheme of things, but if you could make the rocks not get stuck there at all, why not try it?

Yup, I complained about this long time ago.
The more rocks get in there, worse it gets.
Now the flaps are bent away from the fender.
I wish I had of filled it with silicone or chalking in the beginning, now too late.
Showstoppers told me it's not a problem when I posted before, but now they need replaced.
2 years old, stored for winter.
