How Come Alot of You Don't Like Muffler Delete?
I see on alot of exhaust threads people don't like muffler delete. Why is that (excluding AFM situation)? I have muffler delete on my LS3 and it sounds a lot deeper than other axle backs I've heard on youtube and it is not very loud which some claim it makes you car sound loud like a rocket ship.

I have the muffler delete and I like it. It comes down to personal opinion. I just ordered some lt headers so muffler delete might be a bit louder than I like. I will have to wait and see and take it from there...

This is why I'd rather do cutouts than a muffler delete.. I'm amazed this isn't a more popular option..

I had muffler deletes with factory cats. Did not like it. It shrieked about 3000 rpm..awful. drove it like that for a year. Then headers hfc, cam, and put FAT exhaust back on love it now.

Terrible raspy sound IMO. God awful on V6's too. Subjective just like everything. As you can see some dig it, some don't.

I started with it, as a lot do. FOR ME, it was to "unrefined", the decel pop was cool...for a few days. I personally prefer a little more cleaned up note, but compared to stock it was better.

I have muffler delete with duals and I don't think it's loud enough, sounds good, pops when you get off the gas, but I'm going to go electric cutouts soon, and close it to muffler delete when I want it quite.

i have had my muffler and resonator gone for about 6 months now and i love it . I have the l99 and i always drive with shifters so i dont have to worry about afm. I get so many compliments all the time about the sound . I know when inspection time comes in November i will have to find an axle back but i have yet to find ANY axle back that sounds as good and the most important as loud as a regular muffler delete. I couldn't care less for drone so if anyone knows an axle back that sounds just as loud and aggressive as muffler delete please enlighten me lol
on a side note im convinced you cant get these new muscle cars to sound like their predecessors from the 60s and 70s those are always loud. The stock exhaust on these are horrible i had people asking me if i had a v6 when i first got it and had the stock exhaust. |

I love my muffler delete, it was the first mod I did, followed by cold air intake, I love the way it sounds and I get compliments all the time when I start her up, everyone has an opinion and that's mine lol.

I had the muffler delete on my G8GT....it was "ok". I've heard it on the 5thgens and like someone else said, it's a bit unrefined. To each their own though.
