What sort of a price are you willing to pay for a hard top?

An extra 150 lbs and $2000 over and above what a conventional ragtop already costs? If so, you would be part of a small minority. If there were no penalty associated with a soft top, it would be a no-brainer. But seeing as most intend their convertible as a fair weather toy ... what it looks like with the top up isn't that big of a concern.

Just like in the other bread regarding an LTZ package, I would happily pay the premium. I also know that it's just not that easy because people like me are a minority. Like I said, I don't expect it be an option, but it would be nice.

The C7 uses a separate tonneau cover and has at least since C5.

You can see the track around the tonneau where the base of the top sits.
Well, it IS a tonneau, but it's an automated one. Here's a link - watch the animation that's about 1/2 way down the screen.

Now, here's the coupe with the Targa Top removal.. Now, this thing is great! Hopefully, they'll do the 6th Gen Camaro like this, with a Targa that's easy to remove & store.

Power top didn't come to be until well into the C6. C5 and C6 both had a manual tonneau cover with a small switch that released the panel. But you could do it in seconds. Power was a nice addition though.

As for a targa roof (1 piece) like Corvette, that would be interesting. A single piece roof panel is exempted from the roof strength and side impact standards................at least for now. I think all cars have to meet the side pole impact standards in 2017.
