I recommend that everybody check out Radar Roy at www.radardetector.org.

V1 and Redline for highway usage of which is for highway usage and Escort Passport(s) are very good as is the BEL Sti R (same company) for long range and other abilities.

Please note that the V1 is not stealth and if the LEO use a spectre III (radar detector detector) can give you a ticket in some states for using radar detectors.

The escorts and BEL are stealth. (Does not emit radar waves to detect radar waves)

my $0.02 cents

Yes, look here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31338

There's another thread on this somewhere in the DIY section, too.

I'm going to go ahead and throw my vote in on the 9500ix. I definitely love not hearing the same false alerts over and over again on my daily commute, and even with the terrain we have around here it still gives a good amount of warning time.

As far as the whole "directional" thing goes, if a cop radars you from the rear you are already caught, and radar doesn't work on a perpendicular target. So honestly the whole direction aspect doesn't impress me on the V1.
