Odd new noise

Hey guys,

Have you taken the wheel off and inspected? If so send some pics and someone can point you what to check.

Havent had a chance to get the wheel off. We have a lift at my warehouse but im only allowed to use it when the fleet manager is there and hes been out for the past few days. Hes a "mechanic" but when I pulled in this morning and he heard the noise he just shrugged and said " don't know man"

Yea, I'd take the wheel off and do a visual inspection. If nothing looks out of whack I'd support the car safely then use a jack under the hub to put some tension on the assembly and listen for noises. Then spray each component with a wd40 type solution to see if the noise goes away.

I have adjustable toelinks on mine with spherical ends and they sound like the devil when crap is in them. Have you done any suspension mods to the car or any work lately?

Nothing has been done to the car recently and suspension is stock. Its VERY noticeable when going slow ( 7- 18mph) or even just letting the car roll at a light (forwards and backwards). It doesn't matter if I press the brakes or even pull up on the ebrake so I doubt its the brakes. I do think I need brakes soon tho. I don't think its suspension since if I bounce my car or push it side to side it doesn't make the noise. Its a creaking. it does get faster the fast I go but eventually it either goes away or I cant hear it over the road noise and exhaust. I really don't even know what to check. such an odd sound, im really hoping it isn't something major.

Definitely sounds like it has something to do with the rotation, I'd just get under and inspect everything, take rear wheels off - most of the time its pretty obvious where its rubbing. Good luck - keep us posted!

I'd think it would be a little crunchier if it was in the pumpkin. Check the half shaft as well where the cv boot is by the diff, they let go easily but I haven't heard one make that noise before.

Kinda sounds like when the parking brake is rubbing against the hub. Can you pop off the rotor and see any rub marks?

im gonna take the wheel off after work. im gonna look for anything rubbing. Also, Someone mentioned the wheel could be a little loose? I did have them off about a month ago to do some painting. could this be it? Not comforting considering my driving habits weren't the most mature this weekend...

Forgot to update you guys. All fixed. Turns out the wheel lugs were loose. Multiple lugs. Scary stuff. I took all the wheels off and retorqued them down. Gonna check them every now and then to make sure I don't have an issue.
