Logic says the 3:73s. Hot rodders all over the country would really be POed if installing lower ratio gears slowed the car down...lol.

Or should I just assume that you're talking about street racing & close the thread?

I went through intersection today, when it was raining, and the back end came around ~5-10 degrees accidentally and I got a ticket for wreckless driving.... Back tires are bald and it was slick out. Reminds me of that officer. Going to fight it in court. |

He's probably talking about one of these private roads or air strips that are magically popping up all over the place. Pointless thread. "Hey, what's faster, a geared or a stock Camaro?...we'll be racing from 100mph to 110mph since neither one of us can drive or find a track"

If you feel that any of the moderators on the site are acting out of line, send them a PM so they can explain their actions. Or send one to another mod who you think are being fair & they can bring it up with the rest of us. Or take it up directly with the site administrator Tran. In any event, throwing a little insult at me probably isn't the best way to improve the situation.

Just kidding. Yeah, I would think the 3.73s would win due to better acceleration (as long as he can hook up). That's kind of the point of getting them

To the OP... two IDENTICAL cars with IDENTICAL weights and performance... logic would say the 3.73s would beat the 3.27s or whatever is in the A6... In the end, who knows... Maybe the other guys car is "stronger" from the factory... yes this is possible. We got a "factory freak" 1989 IROC. Anyone who drove it who had experience with those cars said it was the fastest 5.7L they ever drove... I drove it yesterday... its a dog Anyhow... back to the point. Gears alone aren't going to set you in a league of your own. If your buddy has a stock L99 and you have a stock L99+gears, you may edge him a hair but its not going to be an earth shattering differnece. I went from 3.45 to 4.10s... its nice but not a huge difference. It really just made 1st more fun and 6th actually usable. I am now back to 3.45s. :( |
