Break in!
OK so this is always controversial. Especially engine break in. Curious as this is my first brand new car. Do we need to bed in the brakes? I have bought two new motorcycles in the past few years and did not have to brake in the brakes. Although performance pads are always a good thing to bed in right away. I am thinking factory brakes are not as necessary to break in. What do you think?

Bed them. It is a simple matter of not doing a 100mph to 0mph in the first two hundred miles. Even I can do that. Check the owner's manual when it comes on line if you doubt.

Always bed in new brakes, be it a new car, or when you change the pads. Clean off the rotors on pad change, too. I was always told to do slow gentle stops from 20MPH twice, then 25MPH twice, all the way up to 50MPH.
Seems to have worked for me for the past 30 years.

Ok makes sense. Never bought new cars always let someone else take the hit. Bought plenty of new motorcycles and followed owner's manual.
With the Camaro I looked at it like my motorcycles. Some thing higher performance I do not want someone else teaching bad habits. lol |
