I don't think the point is to win car shows with it. It's like watching the Videos of Carroll Shelby talk about his race car development back in the day. They finally put one of these things on them and I think it limited top speed a hair, but increased handling in the corners enough that it improved lap times.

I was thinking the same thing. If the appearance of a small part of the Z/28 plays at all into your decision to buy one or not, save your self some money.....you are not the right guy for this car. You are willing to deal with the elimination of almost all creature comforts.....but damn those tail lights!

I find it hard to believe a buying decision on a 75k sports/track car would come down to whether or not you like the tail lights....but hey....I've seen crazier things happen!!

My understanding on the new tail light design was because of laws that require the rear tail lights to be seen from the side. i dont like them either, they look too much like a 90's model acura tail lights to me. It wouldn't stop me from getting this sweeet beast.

Like the Stingray?

Yeah, they're so bad it's a deal breaker because if this was the look in 2009 I never would have bought a Camaro. Of that I have no doubt. All the controversy over the headlights and then they throw this on the rear.

I thought I read there are some different spoiler options on the car... some you can adjust to add downforce.

I love the new taillights... they look more like the original '69 design. I just don't like the unpainted portion under the taillights... I never liked unpainted bodywork. At least on the Z28, it's painted.

You could always just replace the rear with the 2010-13 rear and tails. I'm guessing if someone could swing the +$75k for a Z28 then they could probably swing the maybe $4k it would cost (not factoring any money made from selling the Z28 parts removed) , but I guess it depends on how much you really want it.

You buy what you like correct? You want a back up camaraderie or you want two doors or a hardtop or convertible. What ever you buy you buy because you like it correct? Enough said.
