Talking GM bring the 1LE in

I hope that GM brings right away the new Camaro 1LE to give a good fight to the Mustang. I'm sure there are many like me waiting for that option to be available on the first day and hope that will also be available with the A8 transmission as well with some fancy sport seats.

They don't need to, the new SS is faster then the 1LE which is faster then the new GTPP. I think for that reason plus other like still trying to put together and test all the 1Le content will be reasons we see a 2017 release. Plus it will be part of the anniversary special potentially

I'd like the 1LE wheels as an option for the LT

Would be nice to have the 1LE option available at start of gen 6 production, but I doubt that will happen.
Having the MRC should help make the SS pretty stout on the track.

I just want 500+ NA hp @ the crank from the factory.

I agree that a 6th generation 1LE equivalent to the current 1LE isn't really needed (unless you just want it for the looks only) since the current SS with MRC sounds like it is faster.

The next 1LE, assuming we even get one, would only make sense to me if it is even more track capable than the SS with MRC. This means is going to have to be fairly hard-core...even more-so than the current 1LE.

So then if the next 1LE is going to be that hard-core...well then does that push out the need for a 6th gen Z/28?

I see it happening a few ways:

1) 1LE comes, and offers GT350 like performance (but could likely use more HP than the standard LT1 offers, and GM has no N/A engine to do that right now) . A Z/28 also comes, but with a much higher HP number (LT4 power) and takes the place of the current ZL1.

2) There is no 1LE this generation, and instead we just get the Z/28. Offer it in a "base/cheap" version ala base GT350, and let customers option it out with full tech goodies, and full track setup suspension. Hopefully would have a 500+ HP n/a engine. Price range 50 - 70K. ZL1 Camaro comes out, offering the LT4. Maybe the Z/28 gets the LT4 no matter what, and we have no 1LE or ZL1 this generation, but getting an LT4 in a base GT350 price range of 50 - 55K sounds highly unlikely.

Yeah the 1LE likely won't be available at Launch. The 2017 will be an interesting year to see what GM brings to the table. I'm hoping for a ZL1 or Z28 with the LT4

I honestly don't think they are finished with the na engine they were trying for the z06. They couldn't reach emmisions goals for their targeted horsepower, which was probably in the 600's, I'm guessing they could scale the horsepower back in the mid 500s and make emmisions. Throw it in a z28 and they have their gt350 killer.

Offering a 1LE package wouldn't exactly be bringing a 'good fight' to the Mustang GT with the performance package. The current 1LE does that already. The new SS is at least as good as the 1LE, so a 6th gen 1LE would be somewhat unfair

I can see things both ways. On the one hand, if the regular SS can outperform the GT with the perf pack ... whats the point in a 1LE?

On the other hand, there are always people that want something that offers a bit more than standard. And 1LE does that.

They just need to take the current 1LE up a couple notches.

Dry sump LT1 with no AFM
6 speed manual only
Torsen LSD
Coupe only
Square tires on lighter forged wheels
6 piston front, 4 piston rear Brembos with two piece rotors
Monotube hydraulic dampers
Stiffer springs, sways and bushings
Upgraded aero
