While the new body style may or may not be a knock out this IS a better car in every other aspect of a new vehicle. I'd love to see a boosted 427 inch engine. That would set the bar for a long long time. It can be done and it can be fuel efficient with modern technology.

I agree that this was a bad way to debut - those "pictures" are clearly not photographs of the car, they are CG. Unless the car is painted matte, there would be much more in terms of reflections.
Will reserve my official opinion until we see actual photos/HD vid from all angles.

The fully matured six gen is fresh in our mind which is an amazing looking car. We are seeing a first year car that they will mature. It's definitely not gojng to start off aggressive because they want to add to it over time to keep upping the stakes and keep people buying..
It has potential but it's going to be a few years before we see what she is made of... |

I'd like to see it side by side with the 5th gen. It just doesn't look like much of a generation change.
Don't like the creases on the back bumper at all. |

That's what I say. Got to see the 5th & 6th side by side.

I remember when the 5th gen dropped.
People's jaws hit the floor and the drool started pouring out. I don't think this same phenomenon will happen tomorrow. The 5th gen was/is just perfect, aesthetically speaking.

That's because there was no Camaro from 2002 to 2010.... this isn't the coolest thing since sliced bread... it's just like another Camaro. |

That's just your opinion. I'm not so in love with this car yet but it is a big improvement over the 5th Gen In my opinion. I'm still holding Faith Tomm will blow us away.

First off, remember the 5th gen débuted in concept form in January 2006. Hell, pics of it leaked out about Christmastime 2005. Production of the 4th gen ended in late August 2002. So there was no Camaro for only 3 years and 4 months. Not 8 years like you claim. Secondly, the time span had nothing to do with the response to the 5th gen. It was just a jaw-dropping, perfectly designed American muscle/pony car. Every line, every proportion is perfect on the car. It's what enthusiasts believed an American muscle/pony car should look like.

I do. All the car boards (especially the GM ones like CamaroZ28.com) were blowing up with super positive comments about the 5th gen. I've never seen such positive reactions to a single car before the 5th gen débuted nor after it débuted. The strong point about the 6th gen will be its dynamic prowess and its technology. Not so much for the aesthetics. It's not bad, but it's not a 5th gen.

I recall the Corvette faithful were jumping over cliffs when the Stingray debuted. All the handwringing over those taillights. Now it's considered brilliant. The shots today look exactly like Chaz's rendering.

All generations look very different. Looks like a stepped up Gen 5 in these pics. I'll wait til tomorrow to decide. Sure it will be an amazing car.
