Thinking of Trading the GS for a Gen 6 1SS

I have had two 5th gen Camaros and was totally satisfied with both. I especially liked the L99 after doing max bolt ons that resulted in decent quarter mile times. I traded the second 2012 5th gen on an 06 C6 Vette and that for a 2010 C6 Grand Sport. Loved all of these Chevys but really liked my L99.

So, now the 6th gen Camaro seems to be the car to have and I am itching to drive one as soon as they become available. I will only be able to get into one at the $38-40k price range, so I've been watching the speculation on pricing with great interest. HUD and Brembos would be must have options, beyond that, anything else is price dependent...lol.

I believe the 6th gen Camaro will murder the Mustang GT with track pack. I think it will give a GT350 a run for it's money. I believe the 8A will be capable of mid 12 second ETs in the quarter and I also think they will sell tons of them...hopefully one to ME!

I can't wait to drive one either. I won't be trading the vette, but I want to see what one will do. I think it is going to impress a lot of people.

Unfortunately you can't get heads up display on a 1SS. Otherwise you could add the brake package and the MRC to get the handling and you'll be good to go on a 1SS.

The Heads up display comes with the Convenience and Lighting package, available on the 1LT and 1SS

I guess I'll have to wait until we can build them on the Chevy site to answer that question. I've had HUD on my Vettes and it's definitely a dandy option. Nevertheless, I will be very interested when they start delivering them.

Hrrmm...and I thought I knew the options lol. I'll have to check out the order guide again.

EDIT: OK...so I looked it over. That package is RPO code ZN2. Unless I'm looking at it wrong, it appears to me that this package is not available on the 1SS. I just see dashes "--" everywhere that mentions it in the order guide for the 1SS.

Sounds like they're really trying to push people into the 2SS

Agreed. I'd thought I read HUD is only 2SS/2LT.

HUD is most assuredly a very valuable option. The one on the Chevy SS I drove was exceptionally bright and easy to read even in broad daylight. I would have to save up my bucks for a 2SS but that may be the best way to go...we'll see.

I'm just not feeling the 6th gen :-(. Had a 1SS '10, and a 2SS '12, both A6's...but my next Camaro will be a 5th gen 1LE.

When you consider all the extra stuff you get with a 2SS, it's almost silly to consider anything else but. If you added all the options one at a time, you would probably pay $5k for that stuff. I love all the good stuff even if it adds more weight and costs more.

I looked hard and long at a new 1LE or a used one before opting for the new Camaro.

I just got note that my Camaro will be at the dealership tomorrow. Going to go over and have a look but don't pick it up until Friday. I am really excited to get this car.

I am not sure why some people bother wasting time posting they just don't like a car out of the blue with nothing to back up that statement. Everyone is entitled to thier own opinion but is off topic and no one really cares.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.
