Interesting to me that on an enthusiast site, looks would be more desirable to people than performance.

I wonder if these V6 5th gens would have sold as well with only 210 HP or a number close to that...

It's an interesting question for sure. I think the 300+ hp helps... especially compared to the competition's v6 hp numbers. I know I thought it was easier getting a v6 considering the HP. Would I have still bought a 5th gen if it was a 200hp v6 ... Possibly, but not as likely.

It depends on what it looks like and how it performs. It has a lot to live up to.

If they go back to the 4th gen look I would be out no matter how well it performed.

Anything under 300 and I would have most likely passed.

Sure the V6's 312 HP isn't the 400 that the SS has, but it ABSOLUTELY makes for a fun daily. In addition it is really not that slow. You can still give 99% of those little modified Civics and such a spanking.

my thoughts exactly.

if the camaro had less than 300hp, i would have either gotten a '13 2.0t genesis coupe or a jetta tdi.

a note about the tdi...i test drove one and i was VERY impressed with the torque at just 2000RPM. it wasn't even broken in and i got 48mpg average for the test drive. if i had chosen economy instead of performance/looks, i would have gotten that car.

If it has all kinds of crap on it to save the planet, I will pass. The planet is doomed anyhow, since we don't have the technology to refuel the sun, so there's no point.

It will have to be VERY impressive. I'd rather keep mine and get something more exotic/luxurious. I'd love something nimble. As long as there's a V8 already in the garage, it opens up the doors to tons of options for me. I just can't be without at least one V8. I tried, and I just missed the sound and feel too much. Maybe i'm just a little crazy?

if they do it like Ford did ill be down for a 6th gen. when Ford re-made the Mustang in 2005 I liked it a lot...but the 2010 looks a lot beter. the changes they made just enhanced the look of the car so much.

So if Chevy takes the car we have and just makes it better as opposed to a total re-design then thats good. if they totally change it then i guess we'll have to wait and see how it looks first.
