Who says Silver won't shine!:)

Just picked up the new DD on Friday....I am the "ANTI-GLEN"!lol
Spent 2 days detailing with Zaino....washed, cleaned with All In One, 3 coats of Z2 with FX, then 2 coats of Clear Seal....on everything....rims, glass, all painted surfaces...detailed engine with Z8 and clear seal.
Painted NPP high heat gloss black, and Calipers Red.

Let me say that I have been in the Automotive industry my entire career...and in paint since 1988.
I have had 2 GM cars (02 Camaro SS, 05 GTO) fully repainted at my shop, for paint defects.
Let me be the first to say that this is THE BEST Silver metallic paint job I have seen from a domestic automaker. GM did themselves proud with this one....it is too bad they had so many early issues.
I had NOTHING in the paint...no dirt anywhere, no mottle, no sags, drips, or dry areas....all hinges and parts ARE PERFECT. The Splitter is a degree dark off color, but being at ground level it looks like a shade dimension that actually accents the entire front.
I had white stripes on my 12 Silver SS and thought no way would these be true white pearl...well I was wrong and these are beautiful...they glow...I'm VERY happy.
I hated the side Camaro badges and the SS in the rear....I AM LEAVING THEM ALONE...just as a Thank You to the designers and people who built this gem.
I will be changing to a "Real Blade" when one comes out...IMHO, the Spoiler does not accentuate the Splitter...the Splitter adds to the front and it needs a real blade to lengthen the dimensions of blunt rear...and the blade will get pearly whites also.

The paint does look good. Perfect? Don't know about all that. See quite a bit of orange peel. But that's common on most cars. Only manufacturer I know of that completely perfects paint is Rolls Royce.

While your paint does look good, machine polishing it would make it look even better.

I think what Glen meant about silver paint is it won't get to the gloss factor of darker bases. I agree with Glen 100%.

Even though we differ in the way we like to wash our cars, I am pro-Glen. He takes a lot of time to help a lot of people and is an asset to this forum.

Polished clear coat with a black base looks like this. Can't get silver base to reflect or shine like this.

The Title was in jest!
Perfect meant that all "hidden parts", door hinges, etc., were perfect...fully painted. In earlier runs, insides of door, frames, hinges etc., were thin or bare.

I'm Anti Glen, because I spent 2 days on it...and I'm old too...that's it!

I'm not Buffing a DD...maybe my ZL1...the Zaino steps are for bugs, tar on our crappy roads, and all the rain and mud....and for Winter salt and gunk!
THIS WAS A GREAT GM PAINT JOB! PROBABLY the best they can do..

Looks good. Not sure I've seen many silver with white stripes and it pulls it off well. I think silver and white cars look good with the paint matched front extension as well.

Thanks guys.

I also wonder if the plant is using gap gauges along the assembly line...all of the panel gaps and fit are dead on.
With all the BAD Stuff that has happened since ramp up, I am really happy right now.
I'm coming from a 5th gen that had bolt-ons and port/polished parts...there is really no comparison between the 2...except a normal progression of technology and performance!

I'd like to see a pic of the painted exhaust from further back.
