Assume this means Camaro name won’t be on an ESUV

There never were rumors that the Camaro will become an SUV like the Mustang Mach-E.
The teased electric Camaro successor (that might be named differently) is expected to still be a coupe, but maybe with 4 doors.

I'm more confused about the release date. The website states that it would be released Spring of 2023, which is before the Equinox EV and Silverado EV.

Supply chain shortages everywhere especially for computer chips and idiot companies pushing even more EV garbage.
I love my Camaro and C6 Corvette but I would love to see both Ford and GM absolutely burn to the ground. |

Call me a simpleton, but to me a coupe with 4 doors is like a bicycle with robotic legs attached for walking. It's either a coupe with 2 doors or is isn't.

Exactly! Camaro has always been a 2 door pony car and should stay that way. Put the name back on the shelf until there is a proper offering if any.

I can't help wonder why GM doesn't bother with tapping their history. It's almost as if they don't want to harken back to their glory days. They could've just as easily called it a syclone or typhoon.

Sure they could have, but why? Syclone and Typhoon were both GMCs, not Chevys.

You're missing the point - an SS has great performance, but it's a 4-door sedan. Coupes have 2 doors, not 4.

This is more than likely the competition for the Mach-E GT when in Blazer SS trim. I find it comical when they refer to it as the "high performance" vehicle. All this means is that it accelerates pretty well. Eventually folks will learn that all EVs accelerate well. No one is going to really care if their Blazer goes 0-60mph in 3.5 sec or 5.5 sec because it is a Blazer. No one gives a crap about going fast in a Blazer.
The EV powertrain is not going to be the big differentiator anymore since they all perform pretty much the same and have the same personality. Styling, technology, range, charge rate, reliability and price will be the key deciding factors for EVs. Eventually, we will start to see true EV performance cars and it will get a bit more interesting. We will more than likely see electric motors on each wheel or on the two rear wheels with with software control to control power to each wheel. Maybe the ability to control the torque split, etc. via the onboard software. Improvements in suspension systems.
