AC stanky?

Anyone else notice a brief stanky musty smell from the vents when you first fire up the car after sitting overnight? Goes away pretty quickly but just wondering if this is normal for 6th gens.

Yes mine smells like dirty socks when I turn it on. I bought Nextzett Klima Cleaner to try when it is the end of the season.

No there are several other threads on this. We've all replaced the cabin air filter. It still smells musty for about 1-2 minutes when started.

Stop driving musty ho's around with recirculate on.

Jk lol, IDK what the issue is then. Ive had a smelly startup before, changed the air filter, never had it again. My old filter was in bad shape after 10k miles.

Make sure the vents are set to fresh when you turn the car off. Otherwise mold grows inside.

This happened to me in my minivan and forums suggested that I turn the AC to FRESHAIR mode atleast 2 minutes before I park my car for the day to avoid mold forming.

This worked for me and I do this now in all my cars.

I suggest you try this.

Thanks

Mine has a musty smell if I turn the a.c. off when driving. It's got 625 miles on it.

Have it too. Haven't bothered with trying to find a fix for it since I rarely use it, I prefer to go windows-down. But my wife does hate it.
