Leftover ZL1 What to Pay?

I have found a leftover 2012 ZL1. It is victory red with black wheels. The options are automatic, sunroof, carbon fiber hood, and sueded package. The msrp is around 61,000. It has been the dealers personal car and has 5280 miles on it. It is untitled. What do you think a car like this is worth?

45 to 48ish tops would be all I would want to get into it at. Lots of '13 ZL1s sitting around down here that I think dealers are itching to get rid of. I bought mine about 2 months ago and the other ZL1's I looked at are still sitting on the lots, and the dealers seemed really eager to get rid of them then, all of them were backing off sticker 3k or so.

If you can get it for $52K you would be doing good. Ever though its not been titled anything over 500 miles is considered used by GM. Keep in mind you warranty will be less they mileage he put on the car. Get the extended warranty on the tires.

They are asking 52,000. Plus I can use my gm card points towards the purchase. Seems to be a pretty fair deal. But I have also seen 2013 with no miles for 4-5K off msrp. Does anyone know what a used 2012 ZL1 is bringing these days? Under 50K?

I sold my 2012 ZL1 with 2400 miles on it back to the dealer I purchased it from for $48500 in February. They marked it up to to around $52k. Both the finance manager and one of the sales guys had purchased 2013s and traded them in towards other vehichles, and the fiinance guy said they couldn't move them on the used lot. They ended up selling them to a dealer in Canada. They are great cars, but are way too expensive for most people to purchase and the used values are going to reflect the market. The problem with the 2012 is it is almost 2 model years old. I don't think I'd pay more than $50k for it.

But that dumbass dealer is probably going to think "It's a new car." He won't want to come down that much. There were a couple of '12s on here, titled yes, but with fewer miles for 51k, 53k maybe. 350 and 500 miles if I remember

Also, "Dealers Personal Car" doesn't mean it's been taken care of well. He may or may not have followed all the break in procedures, run it hard, etc.

It's a used ZL1. Treat it as such.

It's a used 2012 regardless of whom used the car, I am sure many WOT test drives were taken with the car. It's also now two model years old with the 14s sporting a exterior restyle coming very soon. I would offer no more than 48-49k. If he says no walk and wait for him to call you in a few days

If its never been titled, then that does make it worth a hair more than a typical used car in my book, just for the simple fact that you can always say that you are the original owner, and 5,000 miles is nothing if you are planning on driving it.

They used to call cars like this demos. I would look at sources like NADA, KBB or Edmunds and get the value with the miles. Edmunds is also good in that they give you a TMV (true market value) based on the infomation. I'd try all three sources, and then ask the dealer what are they offering the car for. Compare their price against the invoice and the three sources, then make your offer. Good luck.
