Pretty sure it's just 3m double sided taped on. Not sure where the actual plug is the though. Probably have to remove the headliner to gain complete access.

It's a pretty big job to remove these. The headliner has to be removed, and according to GM docs, the windshield must be removed in order to get the headliner out of the way enough to gain access to the antenna.

Not true.. my buddy and I did it before we wrapped his roof. It's fairly simple, just drop the rear headliner and unscrew the antenna from under

This. Tight squeeze in the back. But doable.

Yes did the same when I wrapped my roof and a friends. Interior b and c pillar panels need removed then the headliner can be lowered in the rear. Then disconnect the wires leading to it and unscrew the nut (7mm I think) then it pops out. It doesn't have 3M tape holding it down, just a small seal.
It is a tight squeeze but I found removing the folding section of the rear seat gives you a little extra room, just watch out for the latch. And be careful to not pull the headliner to hard, it can crease.

You need 10mm socket....
Hi Folks, Just did this today, couple of things worth noting - Bolt is 10mm, two connectors are wrapped nicely by the good people in Lansing, so that has to be unwound to get to the connector release. The square plastic mount on the bottom does come out through the roof, just wiggle a bit whilst some one pulls from the top.
Thanks for the good start, with out this post I wasn't sure how this was going to go! Oh, and you were right about that latch!!! |

How do you physically remove it? The adhesive holding it in place, not the plug. Heat? Mine looks a little off... not perfectly straight from factory. Can it be moved (slightly) without destroying the adhesive? Anyone know?

how big of a hole is in the roof. im putting a cb in the car I have a nice black roof mount antenna. people are going to think my black SS is a police car. I dont need the xm and would be nice if i could put the car back to stock with out any holes in it if i was to sell it. the mount is 3/4" but i could get a 3/8" one.
