Ya, I don't like my sunroof. I never use it and would much prefer more headspace and I'm only 5'9''. My hair brushes the top. It would also look cooler from the outside without the sunroof with the reverse Mohawk.

IMHO You would be in the $3k-$4k range a total waste of $$$ IMHO and you risk many issues down the road not to mention issues with voiding your warranty.

I had a friend have T-tops installed on his 5th gen. So I am sure its possible to get the top recovered. I have no clue what it would cost but it may be worth it if you really want to track the car.

I never understand when people say this. Average sized people. I am only 1" taller than you are and unless I drive with my seat laid back like a thug I have to drive with my head INSIDE the sunroof hole (with the shade slid back). There is literally zero chance in hell I could drive this car with a helmet on. I either have a FREAKISHLY long torso or people exaggerate their headroom.

Many people neglect the fact that not every tall person is built the same. When it comes to car headspace, your torso length, build, weight, etc, all come into play.

Sometimes I also wish I did not have the sunroof. I would like more headroom. Depending on what is in between the headliner and the roof in the area directly above my head, maybe there is some way to modify the headliner to gain more headroom. I always wonder if maybe some custom shop could cut some clearance out of the headliner above my head and make it look good.

It's more a matter of seating position preference. And your height doesn't paint the whole picture. It's a matter of leg and torso length. I'm only 5'11, and my seating position is a compromise for headroom. But then I knew that before buying the car.
