Obviously the 2014 refresh was the right choice as sales did rebound a bit after they were released..
At first I didn't like them either..but I think they've aged well. |

GM's reasoning on the 2014 refresh rear was to move the weighty look of the rear upwards.
Visual trickery. I hated the taillights though... When we saw spy pics, we guessed they were Europe only or something. .

The refresh front fascia is more aggressive with a better hood (ZL1 not included). The Z/28 and 1LE are the best looking 5th gens overall imo.

Could it just be the 2019 ZL1 with more power and a new carbon brake option?

It has standard non-ZL1 headlights.
Like the 5th gen Z28. Medium-high probability it's a Z28 test mule. 2019 wheels. Will get its' own rear spoiler. http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=518064 l

Haha. I didn’t mind the lights at all really. That diffuser change was mind numbingly horrendous to me though... That split line that went through the middle of the license plate hurt me to look at it. All I could think of was that they were saving it to submit it in autocad and accidentally dragged the line up before saving. Then it was sent before they caught it and they just rolled with it. If they’d have left it lower, I think it would have looked much better. Although, I’m aware that looks are subjective. Just not my thing.

Maybe...I know they use mules to test different things...as in, not all of the components are necessary to test brakes, or lights, etc...but I'd like at least the proper front fascia would be necessary to evaluate thermal management.

It's probably the new GT500 camouflaged with the ZL1 exterior. Nobody would see that coming. Hidden in plain sight.... JK

Here is what I don't get, if they were just doing that then they could have simply taken a 1LE or ZL1 Camaro and put those brakes on it. One source said that the rear tires are 295s which would indicate that this isn't a ZL1 Camaro though also not an SS 1LE Camaro. I feel that they have the parts laying around to put a Z/28 Camaro together (one that would beat the 5th generation car and for less money). |
