Sent my P320 back today for the voluntary upgrade to fix the potential fire when dropped issue. Anyone else done this yet? Said it takes 4-6 wks. Wondering how long it really takes.

Do you keep your Rifles Stock? or will you replace all the furniture as soon as you unbox it?
Do you prefer the front A2 sight or are you a 12" rail man?

The above manufacturers and others offer their rifles basic and dressed up.

I’ve never owned a rifle...I’m a new gun owner, as in never owned a gun until recently so I’m looking for guidance.
Our country is getting worse with gun violence and I want to be prepared.
I’m going to gun classes/seminars and just want to be prepared for my family.
So any advice for a true newb is what I’m looking for.

I'd recommend buying one with the free float rail as part of the base platform , allows many add on's without having to modify the rifle first.

As a brand-new shooter, at least consider having a lot of your early shooting with something in .22LR. Not teaching yourself to flinch in anticipation of the recoil will help you become a better shooter. You can always get something in a heavier caliber later.

A nickel a round will encourage you to practice more than when it's a quarter or more every time it goes 'bang'. Plus, the initial investment is lower and you might get a better feel for what fits you.

FWIW, I'm pretty new to gun ownership myself. But I've shot from time to time ever since I was about 12.

Completely agree.

I find my .22's are way more fun to shoot than my big guns.

Agreed.

I love my 1911 for shooting...it just feels right in my hand. But .45s are expensive to plink with. So I bought a .22 conversion slide for it, and it's the best of both worlds!

Lots of good deals out there on AR’s right now. Free float barrel is good advise. Do you want iron sights or red dot, or scoped, depends on distance and precision you want to achieve. Lots of mags, good sling, lots of mags.

Have you guys seen this? Military Arms Channel interviews an ex-ATF employee about the bump stock ban. The regulation is incredibly vague and could lead (potentially) to a ban on all semi-automatics. Watch the video, or just click the link and submit a comment to the ATF, contact your reps, and the President.

Found some parts laying around. Slapped this pistol together and painted it because the upper and rail had been polished to bare aluminum by a previous owner. I don't think it is too bad for the first time painting a gun. It was actually pretty easy and probably only took an hour. I should have taken a picture of the other side but the matte clear was still wet when I took this. It looks better in person.

7.5" barrel with KAK muzzle device, KAK buffer tube and Shockwave brace. Larue rear BUIS and Samson front BUIS. The rest is no name stuff.
