Help: Wheel Offset/Tire Question

So, I've gone ahead and ordered these wheels, which I got confirmation will fit.

I'll be using these to putter around town with for now and keep the OEM for track days.

Looking at the Hankook Ventus V12.

Going with a 305 rear, but wondering if I can use a 295 on the front instead of the recommended 285. Anyone know if this will cause an issue?

Are you going OEM wheel sizing? Which I believe is an 11" front? In which case, a 295 may be necessary. If you're running a 10" wide front like a NON-1LE ZL1, then you'd also be safe with a 295 also. The ZL1 1LE has room for a 305 on an 11" wheel and was tuned for it. By going 305/285, you're at regular ZL1 sizing. I'd stick to original proportions or close to it. I'd run a 315/295 or similar.

These are replica. Not OEM.

The wheel size is a 19x10, which would take a 295 no problem. I am not sure if the offset of the wheel, with a 295 tire, will experience rubbing etc.

A 285 is what is recommended, but I want to make sure the extra 10mm won't really come into play.

That should be fine, as long as you're referring to a 30 series tire.

The offset calculator I use, says you will have 1mm more clearance on the inside over stock. But your outer position will be pushed in by 25mm, that will have a big effect visually, but no effect on clearance.

Awesome!

The factory shoes stick out far, so that's not really a huge issue.

Appreciate the help!

I have to strongly recommend you not going with the Hankooks. I’m running them on the wife’s car because I hated the tram lining of the MPSSs and while a decent tire you’re giving up a lot of performance even compared to the MPSS. Look at RE71Rs or the new PS4s.

I won't really be using them for any performance. That's what the 3Rs will be for. But I agree, I am just wanting to use an around town.

what's wheel specs? 19x10 + "offset" ?

if offset is +20 - +22 with 295/30 it will be fine.. ( will stick out past the fender ) should get rock guards.

If you encounter any inattentive drivers/pdestrians/children/pets and have to take evasive action, you may wish you had kept a true performance tire.
