2ss and Premium GT same price!

Many have said that the 2ss and premium GT are about $1500 + apart, but when you build both to what most get, there near identical. So take the 2ss with nav gives you a price of $42,790. Now take the premium GTPP with a base price of $39,790. But to get memory seats and BLIS with premium stereo (stock on 2ss), you need to add package 401a for another $1795. To get reverse sensors is another $295 (stock on 2ss), then nav $795. So a premium GT set up just like the 2ss with nav has a msrp of $42,675. So the 2ss is only $115 more simular equipped, thus wiping out the notion that the 2ss is a lot more money. So for $115 you get a lighter, more hp and tq and options of getting Magride, NPP, and a moon roof. Looks like a no brainier. True with the GT you could go without the memory seats, BLIS and reverse sensors. But what I have seen once you get in this range, those features are what most get.

I don't care if they sold that stinkin' Rustang for $30,000...I'd still pay the extra $$$ to drive my Camaro!

The difference between the mustang's price and the camaro's is ford gave you the option of getting what you want exactly. If someone just wants a cruiser with a V8 and leather, well they can get a mustang for 5000 less. This is the majority of the buyers. It'll be interesting to see how the numbers play out.

Agreed. All this feature packaging just inflates the price too much for folks that only want the V8 driving experience without all the other stuff. A base 1SS with automatic and destination is around $39k plus tax. You can buy a Gen 5 Camaro in that configuration for $32-33k. I am not saying the Gen 6 isn't worth the price, but we can't deny that the entry price for a SS did not increase significantly.

35,795.. That's the MSRP of a 5th gen 1SS with an automatic. While cheaper than 2016 model, it definitely isn't 32-33.

this is a ludicrous lie. GT Premium starts at ~37k. 2SS is significantly higher. this is with NO options, not sure why you threw performance pack in there to bump the GT price up even more

To show that when similarly optioned, they are closer in price. With the Mustang you have the option to go cheaper.

I'm guessing because it's the only way they are remotely on the same playing field from a performance standpoint.
