Gas mileage

Yea I know we dont buy camaros for gas mileage, but that being said...
I consistently pull 32-33 mpg on the 120 mile trip i take weekly doing 70-80 the whole time. One would guess if u drop nearly 10% of the cars weight, improve aero, make it smaller and have continuous vvt that mpg would increase by a decent amount. So why the hell are all the magazines coming in with worse gas mileage than my 6?

I am averaging about 26 in city and that is with me constantly shifting and not keeping a certain speed nor rpm per break in. For 20 miles straight on the highway I hit tour mode then on 6th speeding cruising at 75 and was getting 32mpg. I am damn use I can squeeze more out of it. It truly is amazing.

That is awesome to hear. I am hoping that my auto will see consistent 30 on the highway!

Last gen6?

The 2LT v6 will most likely get better MPG than my LT1. What I have is in my signature. I love my car. I never had a gen5 camaro, first camaro is the 2016 one

The 5th gen V6 was made to be the high efficiency engine. Now that they have the 4cyl, I'm sure they have the V6 setup more for performance. Gearing looks to be the same, but the 6th gen tires are smaller so cruising rpm will be slightly higher. Either way, considering the mpg is almost the same between the 5th and 6th gen V6, people will probably see similar real world mpg.

No, you are just plain wrong.

The car makes less than 5% more power and still had a low cruising rpm.
To suggest those two things would offset:
A 10% of the weight drop, improved aero, a leaner stance and continuous vvt is plain ignorant.

Any number of other things could have affected this. Tuning for more strict emissions, the V6 uses a new manual transmission, stickier tires, who knows?

The EPA rating for the manual V6 has been published. 18 city / 27 hwy. Vs. the 5th gen city is up 1mpg but hwy is down 1mpg, and combined is up 1mpg.

We'll see how the auto does with cylinder deactivation and the 2.77 rear end.

First gen? 1967-1969?
His profile says 2016 2SS. Not 1967 V6.

Im not trying to win anything or play word games. I am using an app that doesn't show me stuff id otherwise see on the board, im just trying to get clarification.
It also seems to post and quote weird. Probably a combination of it and me not using it correctly :/
