Powertrain Warranty scaled back to 5yrs/60,000 miles on 2016+ models

This might be old news to most of you?

GM to cut 2016+ Chevy, GMC powertrain warranty to 60,000 miles from 100,000 miles. Extended offerings weren't enough of a draw; free maintenance also scaled back...

This was a gen5 Camaro bonus vs the S550 Mustang. Hate to see it go away....but GM powertrains are solid these days. Won't effect my buying decision. I can see why GM reduced the potential cost (liability) on their end.

No big deal to me, I only will put about 4000 miles a year on mine.

What is the percentage of people who drive 100,000 miles in 5 years anyway, like a few percent I bet...

My commute was 120 per day. 130,000 on my 2010 cobalt. My commute is about 20 miles now. The ZL1 will only see about 6000 miles per year.

I just signed papers for a 2013 malibu. My commute daily fluctuates A LOT, can be anywhere from 10 miles to 50 given I do not drive out of town which I do quite often (to dallas). So my 2SS shouldn't be getting a lot of miles either lol.

My Caddy had 94k and change when it was sent away after 5 years of service for me. That's with my vette sharing about 5-6k miles every year.

Yeah.... I drive my car.

Damn, and I thought my 75 mile a day round trip commute sucked. My daily driver is a '14 I bought around a year and a half ago, and is closing in on 30,000 miles. Suprised to see others rack up mileage like I do, as nobody I personally know comes close. I usually only put 4000 or so miles a year at absolute most on my weekend cars though, as I tend to keep them much longer and enjoy them.

Being the first gen of a brand new platform may also play into it. Even with all the testing, there are almost always kinks that show up and will be fixed with the following year's model. Doesn't effect my buying decision though.

Very old news. Announced quite a while ago.

GM is now competitive with every other major OEM. Ford, Toyota? Both the same.

I guess it total depends on how much you use it daily ... Me, personally I am just going to be using it on weekends and probably fridays (I blame the SF traffic for this)... So I am sure I will run out of 5 years before I hit the 60k barrier.
